Budapest, Hamburg, Köln - Three performances in four days in October: Hungarian and German premieres

György Kurtág's one-act opera, based on Samuel Beckett's play, has so far been performed in six countries: in Milan (2018), Amsterdam (2019), Valencia (2020), Paris (2022), Antwerp (2022) and London (2023).  The work is performed in Budapest at the Palace of Arts (12th), followed by the German premiere at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg (15th) and the Filharmonie in Cologne (20th).

All three performances are concert-like ones, conducted by Markus Stenz, who conducted the premiere - and the previous 18 performances. Three of the four roles are sung by the protagonists of the premiere and all the previous performances - Hilary Summers (Nell), Leonardo Cortellazzi (Nagg), Frode Olsen (Hamm) - while the role of Clov is sung by a Hungarian singer, Zsolt Haja, following Leigh Melrose and Morgan Moody.
